That bit of oomph

Well hello there. I haven’t seen you in a while. Are you well? Are you being crazy productive in lockdown? Or just watching lots of shows and eating your way through the house? Either is good, as is anything in between.

I work from home so I’ve been staying busy playing with other people’s words and making plans for the business.

What I haven’t been doing is writing. Not a word since…February, maybe?

There are various reasons for this. One is that I’ve been sick since March, battling one thing or another. And that takes the energy right out of me. Another reason is that I’m unfocused, something not unusual among creative types as the world spins crazily around us.

However, I got a bit of a boost this weekend when I heard that Changing Course, my last novel, is a finalist in the GCLS awards, which is pretty cool. It got me to reread some reviews, and seeing such nice things made me think that maybe it’s time to jump back on the bandwagon and get back to my characters, who are about to sail down a dangerous river full of obstacles.

If you’re interested in an otherworldly adventure about two women who come from very different places, and who must learn about themselves and each other in order to survive, maybe pop over and have a look at Changing Course. That would be grand.

Oh, and get ready for the release of an amazing line up for the BSB UK Festival!
